Garden Snail Encounter

I rolled out from the solar light beam onto the flagstone path to begin morning reconnaissance. Directly along my central taxi lane rested a garden snail, creeping slowly across the damp stone. Its moist trail formed a glossy, high-slip barrier across my planned route. Stopping was unnecessary. Assessing the curvature of its spiral shell, I banked four degrees port, hugging the narrow dry rim of the stone. My right wingtip cleared its amber shell by five millimeters. Gliding cleanly around the living obstacle, I reclaimed open pavement ahead.
