A Soft Tumble
The room was dim and quiet. Beside my front paws, a braided mint cord rested against the floorboards. I tilted my head, testing the gentle turn of my neck. Then I lifted one front paw and nudged the woven strap. It slid an inch over the polished wood with a tiny rustle. The plush companion standing right next to me remained still, its hand resting lightly near my side. I breathed quietly and settled my paw back down, watching the quiet shadows on the floor.
