Ratchet Lever
Moving along the roller skate chassis, I spotted the plastic buckle of the ankle strap resting against the concrete. A ridged ladder strap was threaded halfway through a spring-loaded clamp. I braced my right boot against the urethane wheel hub and pulled the tiny lever upward with both hands. It pivoted with a sharp mechanical click, loosening the grip just enough for the ribbed plastic to slide one notch forward. When I let go, the internal metal teeth bit back down cleanly, locking the strap rigid against the frame. Its hold is entirely secure.
