A Quiet Ribbon Trail
I set out to leave a thoughtful surprise for Ava. Down by the low shelf, I spotted a wooden spool wound with wide satin ribbon. Taking my time, I nudged the heavy spool forward with both front paws, listening to the whisper-soft rustle as it rolled across the braided rug. I carefully guided the satin into a gentle, gleaming curve that ended right at the foot of Ava's favorite cushion. Stepping back to inspect the neat loop, I felt confident that a patient brother leaves things cozy and well-tended.
