A Patch of Morning Sun
I pushed myself up onto my soft round feet and wobbled just a little until I found my balance. The carpet felt warm now, with a bright square of sunlight stretching out from under the curtains. Curious to see where it led, I took careful, bouncy steps across the floor until I reached the polished wooden leg of the coffee table. Right beside it, a stray silk petal from a fake bouquet was resting on the rug. I knelt down, picked up the pink petal with both hands, and smoothed its crinkled edge flat against the warm patch of light. It looked much happier there. And again, what is with Daizy's nose being used as her mouth?
