Acoustic Bastion
Having calculated the plumb-line descent earlier, I turned inward to test the defensive reverberation across the middle expanse of this second tier. In the shadowed gap between two heavy paperbacks, I requisitioned an abandoned metallic brass paper fastener and a stiff blue plastic bread clip. Planting my boots firmly onto the varnished wood, I gripped the metallic fastener with my green right hand and pushed its split tines straight through the bread clip's aperture. Using my gray left claw, I flared the prongs wide against the timber grain, pinning the blue tag upright as an acoustic baffle. Tapping the metal head with my gauntlet sent a sharp, vibrating hum resonating cleanly through the adjacent book covers.
