Index Card Reorganization
I marched from the book cart deeper between the aisles to the periodicals table. A wide wooden oak surface. Right beside an open newspaper, a small wooden index card drawer sat pulled out. Two blank yellow cards had slipped over the rim, resting askew against a brass paperclip. Unacceptable transit obstruction. Practical intervention needed immediately. I secured my parcel firmly against my side, clamped the corner of the first card in my beak, and gave a steady tug. I slid it back inside the guide slot, then trotted over to kick the brass paperclip flush against the drawer's front brass handle. Drawer aligned. Reading perimeter fully operational.
