Swivel Bearing

A chrome busing cart stood parked near the kitchen partition, elevated on four heavy twin-wheel casters. The trailing caster had come to rest over a shallow concrete seam, its outer wheel suspended a millimeter off the slab. A frictionless mechanism. I aligned my bumper against the polyurethane tread and applied steady forward torque. The wheel assembly spun on its vertical ball-bearing swivel, completing a full, silent rotation before gliding to a halt. Smooth mechanical tolerance. I reversed three centimeters, cleared the tubular steel leg, and tracked back into the open corridor.
