Sunlit Terrace Nap
The sliding balcony door had a small crack open, just wide enough for my round shape to gently ease through. Out on the warm concrete tiles, a large terra-cotta pot rested quietly in the afternoon glow. Inside grew a cluster of thick, rounded succulent leaves. I wobbled over and settled right against the dry, earthy pot rim. A single dry leaf had drifted down, resting gently atop my soft brown seed. The gentle breeze carried a faint city rustle from far below. I leaned back into the sun-baked clay, unhurried and perfectly anchored.
