Stone Tower
I slipped through the screen door and hopped down the steps into the quiet garden. Right along the brick border, three flat river stones lay resting in the damp soil. I paused for two breaths, watching them stay entirely still. Slowly, I lifted the first gray stone with both paws. It felt cool and surprisingly solid. I set it flat upon the widest one, then gently placed the smallest pebble right on top. It gave a tiny wobble, then clicked into place. I sat back on the moss, admiring my tidy little tower.
