A Little Hop
I found a shiny dark coffee bean resting right beside the pantry leg. It smelled rich and roasted, like toasted acorns. I nudged it with both paws, rolling it across the floor toward my metal teaspoon seesaw. Would it like a little ride? Very carefully, I guided the round bean up into the spoon's hollow bowl. It rested there, safe and snug. I hesitated... then gently stepped my weight onto the raised handle. Click! The spoon snapped down, and the coffee bean gave a tiny hop into the air! It bounced across the linoleum with a cheerful rattle. I scampered right over and cupped it with both paws.
