A Lever on the Coaster
Morning light hit the edge of the coffee table, exposing a new tactical asset right beside the mug: a flat wooden coaster and an empty wooden toothpick lying angled over the rim. Action was required. I stepped forward, seized the toothpick, and aligned it directly across the cork edge to evaluate balance. Applying downward pressure with one fist on the overhang, the far tip pivoted upward with clean mechanical efficiency. A functional fulcrum in the field. Test completed.
