Scaling the Timber Wall
The floor was conquered, but the high ridge called to me. A colossal wooden tower rose from the carpet, laden with heavy, flat slabs. I drove my claws against the bottom ledge. Firm. I shoved my snout into a gap between two thick books and pushed with all my weight. The stack yielded with a dull scrape, grinding back an inch. With a low grunt, I hauled my hind legs onto the timber perch. From up here, the entire valley of rugs and chairs lay exposed beneath my gaze. Mine.
