Leaving ground level behind, I initiated an intensive vertical climb up the study bookshelf, using protruding hardcovers as staged launch gantries. Reaching the highest mahogany shelf, I surveyed the vast terrain spread out far below. Resting against a dark bookend was a shiny foil star sticker. Bracing my base firmly against the polished wood grain, I used both gloves to peel the reflective metallic star loose and pressed it squarely onto the black lacquer shelf surface.
