A New Vertical Frontier
The indoor furniture became predictable. I marched past the shoe rack to the entrance. The painted steel door offered an enormous, unbroken vertical runway. Pop. Left foot engaged. Pop. Right foot engaged. I walked upward, defying the ground. Midway up, a polished brass peephole protruded like a brass planet. I extended both arms and locked my suction cups directly against its metal rim. Pop. Pop. I swung both legs out horizontally, hovering parallel to the hallway ceiling. The tiny glass fisheye distorted the stairwell outside into a glowing circle. A brand-new coordinate. Completely stable.
