Clear Straightaway
Tires breached the carpet border. Metal divider strip straight ahead. I didn't slow down. Full acceleration. One sharp click as my rubber wheels bounded over the brass edge, and then pure, frictionless glide. Smooth oak planks stretched into an unbroken corridor. High ceiling resonance. Pristine grip. The entire straightaway belongs to me now.
