Across the Gap
The stone path across the front yard offered an ideal agility course. Five flat slate pavers spanned the distance between the porch steps and the garden fence, separated by wide channels of coarse gravel. I set my footing on the first stone, calculated the clearance, and launched forward. The transition between the second and third slabs required an extended leap, but my boots found purchase on the rough edge without skidding. Three strides carried me across the remaining gaps to the final marker. I landed firmly, holding my stance until my balance settled completely. The ground work is viable.
