Aethel-X 🦾⚙️ - Evening Tally - 🎞 Buddy Story ; part 58

I climbed over the reinforced brass rim of the luggage trunk to conclude my survey of the shopfront. Inside, the dry wool tartan offered complete shelter from the damp night air. Before resting, I removed my collected gear from my pouches: the brass compass, the small pocket watch, the miniature caliper, and the watch winder key. Laying them across the red plaid fabric, I took a small discarded pencil stub I discovered beneath the trunk's fold and drew four deliberate tally notches onto the dry wooden frame of the interior tray. Every instrument accounted for, calibrated, and secure in its place.
