The Rolling Acorn Cap
I pushed past the patio door to catch the cool afternoon breeze outside. Right near the edge of the weathered cedar deck, an empty saucer-shaped acorn cap was rocking in the draft. I crept over on quiet paws, lowered my snout to sniff the dry, textured rim, and gave it an inquisitive tap with my front claw. It tilted onto its side and went spinning across the planks like a tiny wooden wheel before toppling flat against a garden pot. Purring with satisfaction, I hopped forward and clamped both front paws over the rough shell.
