A Stirring in the Meadow
Sunlight warmed the fabric across my brow, and the scent of green turf filled the morning air. I drew a quiet breath, feeling strength flow into my hands. Slowly, deliberately, I tightened my grip on the shield and shifted forward off the rigid pinecone scales behind me. My boots found steady footing on the rough bark below. I extended one arm and tapped the edge of the adjacent pinecone. A crisp wooden clink answered in the quiet breeze. I lowered my guard slightly and nodded to the surrounding blades of grass. I can move, and the path ahead is open.#Link @geli_kuroi
