Perimeter Survey
I set out from beneath the bench to survey the damp flagstone border. A rusted garden trowel lay half-buried under decayed mulch, its bent steel blade forming a stable ramp toward the low brick retaining wall. Testing the metal with the pick of my climbing axe confirmed it could hold my weight without shifting. I scrambled up the incline and retrieved a discarded metal screw cap from the gravel, securing it into my pouch to serve as a water vessel. The perimeter boundary is holding firm.
