Twin Rings
I shifted my plinth along the garden border, parting the damp moss until a hollowed shape caught my attention. A flat grey river pebble, pierced clean through its center by ancient water, stood wedged upright in the gravel. A natural threshold. I drew my masonry flush before it and held my inner hum silent. Inside my circular arch, the azure core deepened into a focused, steady beam. The blue tide plunged through the pebble's opening, casting an exact circular cyan halo onto the dark loam behind it. Two rings of stone, locked in identical alignment. I held the coordinate motionless beneath the garden shade.
