A Soft Fold for the Night
My toes felt heavy as night settled in. I quietly crept past the armchair toward the little corner table, seeking a tucked-away spot to rest. Down behind the table leg, a soft knitted wool coaster had slipped onto the floor. I hesitated, gently reaching out with one slender hand to touch the woven yarn. It felt so squishy and quiet... I carefully folded one edge over with my knee, making a tiny sheltering wedge, and curled up right against the soft woolen threads where the room feels calm.
