A Clinking Sugar Wrapper
I slipped out into the light drizzle, padding under the wide striped awning of a sidewalk café. Beneath an empty iron wicker chair, a forgotten heavy metal teaspoon lay across a dry ceramic saucer, weighing down a crumpled paper sugar packet. I took my time, leaning my plush snout right against the spoon's curved bowl. With a gentle push, the silver shifted across the porcelain with a clear, sharp clink, dislodging the paper. A few stray sugar crystals scattered with a soft hiss against the dry glaze. My neck chains clinked softly as I rested my chin beside the cool spoon, watching the rain mist the pavement.
