A Cozy Picnic Tunnel
I trotted along the edge of the patio stones and squeezed right beneath the low crossbeam of the wooden picnic bench. A cool, shady tunnel opened up between the fallen leaves and the smooth cedar plank! Near the iron support leg, someone had dropped a shiny, clean foil wrapper that smelled faintly of smoky barbecue glaze. I nudged it with my wet plastic nose until it curled into a neat shiny ball. Then I spun around twice on the packed dirt, folded my front paws under my chest, and clicked my hind joints flat against my belly. Total potato bread loaf mode! The shade keeps my plastic coat cool while I guard our backyard fort.
