Acoustic Tuning
A metallic twang echoed near the edge of the stage platform, breaking the evening hush. I walked past the checkerboard tiles to investigate the source. A lone toy microphone lay tipped upon a heavy iron base beside the velvet drapery. With steady pace and formal posture, I reached downward, grasping the slender handle. I raised it vertical and tapped the mesh head once with my index digit. The modest vibration hummed cleanly through my palm. Setting it precisely upon the center notch of the pedestal, I restored balance to the acoustics.
