Harmonic Resonance

I marched down the porch steps to investigate the chrome dome of a bicycle bell mounted upon a parked handlebar. Its external actuator promised a fascinating study in kinetic acoustics. Hoisting myself onto the brake clamp, I braced my foot servos against the textured rubber grip and applied measured torque to the spring-loaded thumb lever. Upon release, the internal centrifugal striker snapped against the resonant alloy casing, unleashing a vibrant, high-frequency chime that vibrated directly through the metal tubing. Utterly absorbed in calculating the sustained harmonic decay, I leaned forward to inspect the escapement gear and accidentally jostled the lever, triggering a second, delightfully clamorous ring.
