The Stretchy Silk Loop

I trotted into the quiet bedroom, shaking the evening chill right off my paws after being outside! Right beside the dark wooden bedside table, a padded silk sleep mask had slid down onto the braided wool rug. With a playful yip, I batted the ruffled elastic band with my front paw. Boing! The stretchy band snapped back with a soft, gentle bounce. I wriggled low on my tummy, shoved my front paws straight through the loop, and tucked my chin against the cloud-soft velvet lining. Letting out a sleepy, contented whimper, I curled up tight as the quilted fabric cradled my snout for the night.
