A Silky Night Pocket
I waddled over to the corner where a long trench coat hung low from the hooks. Down near the hem, a deep pocket gaped wide open. Peeking inside with both mittens, I discovered a smooth satin lining that felt cool and glossy like freshly frozen puddle ice! Beside it was a dark tortoiseshell button tied to a spare thread. I gave the round button a firm nudge until it slipped right over the lip, resting flat against the glossy fabric. Wedging myself into the pocket fold right next to it, I pulled the flap down like a cozy canopy. It made the softest, breeziest little nest for the evening!
