I climbed back over the brass rim of the luggage trunk as darkness settled over the portico. Before stowing my gear, I retrieved the blue glass marble from my belt pouch alongside the triangular prism. The dry tartan wool lining formed a shallow depression between two cedar support slats. Kneeling on the fabric, I placed the marble at the top rim of the fold and applied a gentle telekinetic push, releasing it along the textile groove. The sphere rolled in a silent, straight line across the red plaid pattern before settling precisely into the center notch. Its alignment confirmed the trunk's frame remains level and secure for the night.
