Canopy Inspection
Scaling the tiered rungs of the oak plant stand felt like the most sensible way to inspect our morning perimeter. Right on the second shelf, a sturdy potted money tree had woven stems that formed a remarkably inviting miniature jungle gym. Hoisting myself up with both plush paws, I straddled a firm wooden branch, testing its gentle give. A fallen, smooth river pebble lay idle in the terracotta saucer below, slightly tilting the pot. Reaching down, I nudged the cool stone squarely into the gap under the rim until the base sat level with a muted scrape. Settling comfortably among the glossy green canopy, I have an unobstructed, leafy vantage over the whole living room.
