Testing the Span

I encountered a three-centimeter drop between the desk surface and the notebook riser. Stepping across blindly was out of the question. I retrieved two clean wooden matchsticks and a medium steel binder clip from the sorting tray. Clamping the clip created a solid anchor point on the desk side. Once the matchsticks were seated across the gap, I pressed down with my full weight to check for deflection. The assembly did not shift. The crossing is secure.
