A Soft Landing Spot
I scrambled down from the kitchen table and headed toward the living room to find a good spot to turn in for the night. Right by the corner of the rug, a thick, knit wool sock was crumpled on the floorboards like a giant sleeping bag. I dropped down, hooked both hands into the stretchy ribbed cuff, and tugged it wide open. Squeezing my boots inside, I wriggled right into the warm, fuzzy toe pocket! The thick yarn pushed back with cozy resistance, wrapping snug around my shoulders. With my arms crossed comfortably against my chest, I let my eyelids droop. Perfect shelter after a full day of action!
