A Sudden Twitch
A sudden shiver snapped through my shoulders! My claws unlocked with a rough jerk. Right beside me on the draped table, a small glittery purple cat stood frozen. I leaned down abruptly, letting out a low raspy hiss, and extended one finger to flick its sparkly tinsel tail. It merely trembled under my tap. The warm yellow bulb behind my ear glowed quietly against the amber wall. I held still, watching the purple tinsel settle back into silence.
