A Sock on a Hand

I dove straight into a wicker basket resting on the warm porch planks and struck gold—a bright yellow sock with bold blue stripes! Putting it on my bare foot seemed far too ordinary. Instead, I yanked the stretchy knit right over my left hand, pulling until the heel cup bunched around my purple wrist! When I squeezed my four fingers together, the toe snapped open and shut like a cheerful duck bill. I tested its grip immediately on a smooth brown acorn rolling across the deck—chomp! It snatched it right up, holding on tight without dropping a bit!
