Through the Glass Lobby
I trotted down the carpeted stairs from the hallway, eager to see what lay at the bottom. Before me stretched the ground-floor lobby, its tall glass entrance doors letting in a wide square of morning sunlight. Near a potted indoor ficus sat a smooth, discarded brass key ring resting on the terrazzo tiles. I bounded over and nudged the heavy metal ring with my front paws, making it spin and chime softly across the speckled floor. Standing right before the sunlit glass, I pressed my paws against the cool pane, mesmerized by the fluttering autumn leaves outside on the sidewalk.
