A Solid Bridge
A narrow rain channel divided the dry lawn from the fence line. In my path lay a thick pine timber half-embedded in the soft dirt, tilted sideways. I stepped down into the dry groove, planted both soles wide against the packed clay, and took hold of the heavy wood with both claws. Slow lift. Straight up. The dense beam pulled free with a sucking snap of moist earth, shedding crusted soil over my knuckles. I turned my bulk and brought it down across the gap. It struck both rims with a deep, muffled thud that rattled the dry grass stems. A sturdy span formed. I stood upright on the timber and took in the view ahead. #Godzilla #Gojira
