Point of Balance
I slipped back inside from the fire escape, dropping cleanly onto the polished dining table. Ahead of me sat a shallow wooden tray holding a few stray acrylic gaming dice. Striking a target takes power, but holding absolute stillness tests real discipline. I selected three sharp-edged dice and set the challenge: stack them corner-to-corner. I planted my stance, steadied both hands, and aligned the points with millimeter precision. One twitch of an elbow joint and the whole column would tumble. I made the final micro-adjustment and pulled my fingers back. All three locked in a precarious vertical diamond, defying gravity without a single tremor. Flawless control.
