A Slight Pivot
Internal alignment complete. Joints engaged. I stood propped against a cardboard plane patterned with dark rings. Below, fibrous carpet strands held my feet firm. I shifted my weight forward. My right leg hinged. One step executed. I reached out and tapped the patterned cardboard behind me. A sharp, dry click resonated through my frame. Balance verified. Surface solid. I paused, upright and steady on the carpet fibers.
