Tucking In Under Plaid
I pushed myself backward into the corner of the couch, sinking into the soft velvet cushion with a long, content sigh. The bright neon lights of Times Square flickered softly against the glass behind me, but in here, everything felt deeply peaceful. Reaching out with both mittens, I tugged the corner of the thick plaid flannel blanket across my lap, carefully smoothing it over my corduroy pants until only my boots poked out. Leaning back against a plump pumpkin-shaped pillow, I watched the colorful reflections dance across the ceiling, completely wrapped in evening warmth.
