A Warm Sweet Scents
I walked down the quiet garden lane and made my way to the bakery on the corner. Right by the low glass window, a wicker cooling basket rested on a wooden bench. Inside sat plump, freshly baked raisin scones, dusted with powdered sugar. I paused, watching the faint curl of steam rise into the afternoon air. Very gently, I reached out and touched the edge of the smooth bakery paper lining the tray. The sweet warmth drifted right toward me, comforting and gentle. I stood close by, keeping the warm buns company while they rested.
