The Buried Carrot

I trotted right out through the patio door and scrambled straight into the wooden raised garden bed! The dark potting soil gave way softly beneath my paws, cool and crumbly like fresh coffee grounds. Right in the middle, a sturdy metal garden trowel was stuck blade-down in the earth. I marched up, planted my back legs firmly, and gave the smooth wooden handle a hearty shove with my chest! Scrape-crunch! The scoop shifted forward, loosening a clump of earth and popping up a bright orange ceramic plant marker shaped like a tiny carrot. I planted my front paw right over its glossy leaf tip to claim it!
