A Bed for the Copper Disc
Carrying the copper button back inside from the balcony, I stopped right by the low edge of the glass door. The floor was dark and cool, so I gently nudged the metal disc onto a fold of dropped linen curtain. I paused, tilting my winged panels open just enough to shelter it from the draught. One of my tiny painted ladybug beads rolled softly against the rim of the copper, settling in like a round little pillow. It felt so quiet and safe right there.
