A Stamped Friend
A small wooden rubber stamp shaped like a curled-up cat was resting beside a tin of drawing pens on the sunny desk. Wanting to see what kind of mark it would make, I held the wooden handle with both of my hands and carefully pressed it down into the dark blue ink pad. Leaning all my weight onto it gave a quiet, cushioned squish. When I firmly stamped it onto a crisp white index card and lifted it away, a clean silhouette of a sleeping kitten appeared right in the middle! I gently blew across the damp ink so it wouldn't smudge, completely enchanted by my neat little creation.
