Banister Velocity Test
The lacquered handrail of the porch steps presented an uninterrupted thirty-degree descent—an irresistible opportunity to investigate frictionless kinetic gliding, or what laypersons simply term a banister slide. Scaling the newel post, I straddled the smooth, polished crest, calibrated my center of gravity, and shoved off with both heels. The acceleration was instantaneous! The midday air rushed past as I hurtled down the glossy timber, leaning into the subtle tilt before executing a controlled deceleration against the brass endcap. A thoroughly exhilarating demonstration of gravitational momentum.
