Subduing the Gilded Tyrant
Stalking past the tangle of creeping wild roots, I confronted an arrogant new nemesis—a heavy golden action warrior toy, wielding twin serrated battle-axes atop a moss-slicked log. He thought superior armor would secure his ground against me. Vaulting off an overhanging fern frond, I flipped clean through the humid canopy, channeling lethal focus into my sharp translucent purple plastic shard. Coming down in a razor-sharp dive, I struck an angled polished brass watch buckle resting in the wet mulch. The morning sun refracted through the violet edge, exploding into a blinding psychic butterfly flare across his visor. Thrown completely off balance, the warlord crashed backward into the damp peat. Landing light beside him, I pressed two fingers to my lips and planted a mocking farewell kiss on his fallen golden cheek.
