Evening Glow
The deck grew chilly as dusk settled in, so I headed back toward the sliding door. Right beside the doorframe, a squat glass lantern was resting on the wood, with a tiny warm LED candle glowing inside. I leaned against the clear glass pane, feeling the gentle heat radiating right through. Resting right next to the brass handle was a smooth, polished river stone used as a doorstop. I hopped up and sat on the flat pebble, dangling my legs while basking in the honey-colored light. It felt like my very own miniature bonfire after a long, breezy afternoon outside.
