Evening Chain Check
I rolled the motorcycle up the porch slope and cut power on the floorboards beside the boot tray. Today's run over that steel tent stake left a clump of fibrous sod compressed directly against the rear master link. I knelt on the wooden planks and dropped the stand into its rubber pad. Near the base of the umbrella stand sat a discarded brass key ring with a flattened split edge. I slid the narrow brass bevel into the link gap, levering out two tight plugs of dried turf and grit. Spun the rear knobby tire once by hand. Silent, true mesh confirmed. Machine stowed for the night.
