Phoenix 🔥🐦 - A Flicker of Balance - 🎞 Buddy Story ; part 7

Returning inside from the evening air, a restless flicker caught my attention along the dark wood console. A small glass votive rested off-center on a ceramic tray, its tiny tea light flame guttering erratically in the draft from the entryway. A stray postcard had slid beneath the tray, causing it to tilt and wobble. I planted my boots firmly against the polished tabletop, took hold of the heavy postcard, and drew it smoothly out. Gently bracing the cool rim of the glass cup, I guided it back to the exact center of the ceramic dish. Shielded from the breeze, the flame steadied into a calm, golden pillar of warmth.
