Perch in Hell's Kitchen
I climbed out onto the iron fire escape right as night settled over Hell's Kitchen. The street below was busy, but from this height, every shadow and movement was laid bare. I scanned the alley entrance, noted the broken streetlamp three doors down, and checked the metal rungs under my boots. Once I confirmed the vantage point was secure, I crouched low against the cold railing. This block needs watching, and I have the perfect view.
